A creative studio focused on brand strategy,
visual identity, CGI, key art, packaging, and film.
To celebrate our 5th anniversary, ZYLA held its first design exhibition.
Guided by our founding philosophy of "transcending boundaries," we aimed to create a design exhibition that surpasses the conventional divides of "graphics and video," "Japan and the world," and "others and oneself."
In "The Moving Posters," we were able to showcase the collective potential of our team, moving beyond individual contributions. The exhibition, which attracted a total of 2,083 visitors, presented a unique worldview by integrating graphic design, motion design, and CGI.
The Moving Key Arts
Drawing on our extensive experience in creating key visuals for advertisements in our daily client work, ZYLA has developed a series of moving key art pieces. This transformation involves a comprehensive process that includes model shoot direction and 3DCG compositing. Unlike traditional videos with cuts and scene transitions, these works aim to explore the intersection of graphic and video expression, creating a unique and seamless visual experience.
The Moving Graphic Posters
In addition to the Moving Key Art series, we also created several moving graphic posters that explore more graphical expressions through the combination of typography and 3DCG.
By integrating typography, 3DCG, and motion graphics, we aimed to expand the possibilities of poster design.
Venue
"The Moving Posters" was held on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie, a prominent hub for design culture in Tokyo.
The venue was organized into three main zones: CUBE1 featured the moving key arts, CUBE2 displayed printed versions of each work, and CUBE3 presented the moving graphic posters.
The exhibition was held for 12 days, from May 15 to May 26, 2024. During this time, many individuals who were previously unfamiliar with ZYLA attended the event.
Transition Movie
Transition movies were shown between each work to reinforce the theme of the exhibition as a “Moving Posters Exhibition.”
The individuals depicted changing the posters were ZYLA members, who wore coveralls for the video shoot to highlight this changing process.
Summary
ZYLA’s first design exhibition attracted an impressive 2,083 visitors over its 12-day run. By bringing together the collective talent of our entire team, we introduced a pioneering form of visual art that goes beyond traditional graphic design and video. This exhibition highlighted ZYLA's unique approach, redefining the boundaries of conventional artistic expression.
